Curatorial interpretation
A tall triangle of small cream and gold marks rises against saturated ultramarine, above a gold band of repeated arch-like units; a curved form touches the top edge above the apex. The mood is sacred, nocturnal and still. Forms that recall monuments, discs, vessels and ornament are built patiently from small marks, giving the surface a devotional, almost ritual rhythm. The work suggests how cultural memory can survive as pattern and shape. In the exhibition it appears at position 12 (ROOM III), where its role is: full-screen hero.
Look slowly
Begin at the gold base and climb slowly to the apex. Notice how the marks change as they rise.
